Hi, I'm Sarah and I'm a flute player, flute teacher, and warm weather lover! I've played flute in lots of orchestras in lots of different countries. I've also played at hundreds of weddings and other events, and taught the flute in schools in Australia and the UK.
As you can see from the photo, I have two little girls. When the eldest one started school not long ago, she and her friends REALLY wanted to learn the flute. The problem was, they weren't physically big enough, and the beginner tutor books were much too difficult for them.
So, I began to devise my own program for them to learn about music, and begin to learn a woodwind instrument. I started with a group of six enthusiastic students, ages 4 to 6, and it grew from there!

I am also extremely lucky that my mother, Beverley Broughton, is a specialist in childhood development and learning. She has been an enormous inspiration to me and has helped put all my ideas together. I couldn't have done this without her.

In case anyone was wondering, I have a Bachelor of Music (First class honours) from the Australian National University (Canberra School of Music), a Post Graduate Diploma (Orchestral Musician) from the Royal College of Music, a Diploma in Law (aka a diploma in writing quickly, clearly and concisely!), and have been admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

I am indebted to my flute teachers: Vernon Hill, Virginia Taylor, Alison Mitchell, Paul Edmund Davies and Gareth Davies, who have provided me with such a high level of instruction and inspiration.
